P&G UK Category Manager

Procter & Gamble is the world’s largest consumer goods company with 20+ billion dollar brands, operating in over 10 categories and 70 countries. We are a promote from within company that normally only hires graduates however we are looking for additional talent with relevant experience to bring in some outside perspective on one of our biggest customer teams. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to start a career with us in the sales team as a Category Manager leading our shopper based design.

Overview of The Role

Category management is a pivotal role, required to provide insight-based thought on some of P&G’s market leading product categories.

Through a deep understanding of the shopper, category and retailer you will be recognised by our key retail customers as an indispensable partner and an authority on the category. This will be delivered through mutual desire to grow the category, win with the shopper and maximise the store environment.

You will drive the company’s engagement with the retail trade on how to win in the market, leveraging key shopper and category insights, as well as maximising new product initiatives and delivering sustainable base business growth by influencing internally and externally.

You will need to form strategic partnerships with other category Managers in our customers across category functions and retail channels (e.g. online, drug, grocery, discounter, etc.).

  • 1 or more years category management experience with the UK & Ireland’s leading retailers, or experience within consumer goods industry as a buyer or merchandiser working for a leading retailer
  • A proven record of delivering outstanding business results and exceeding targets.
  • A deep understanding of how to execute winning plans with key retailers.
  • Successful examples of leadership in business or personal life.
  • Applicants should be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold a valid UK driving license.
  • Above all a real passion for winning


Our southern office is in Weybridge in Surrey which is easily accessible from all of SW London and Surrey.

Our northern office is in Harrogate in Yorkshire.
