Liquid Chromatography Doctoral Scientist Internship

The Research and Development Division (R&D) is responsible for elemental composition of consumer products, raw materials, target soils, and packages to solve tough problems and drive innovation across businesses. As a member of the team, you will be focused on driving growth and long term competitive advantage through High Performance Liquid Chromatography and data analysis.

The Ideal Candidate
As a Liquid Chromatography Doctoral Scientist Internship, you will:
• Analyze botanicals by High Performance Liquid Chromatography HPLC/HRMS to compare and contrast constituent profiles.
• Help develop methodology for comparing these complex mixtures.
• Knowledge of natural products, sample preparation and analysis by HPLC/HRMS required
• Mass spectral data mining, organic chemistry and presentation skills very helpful.

Job Responsibilities include:
• For at least two plants, learn extent of chemical constituents that are redundant or complimentary. Compare and contrast profiles (fingerprints).
• Help develop a set of procedures that can later be used to compare other materials, using this approach.
• Present results internally. Prepare presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint slides) to be used to explain the data.
• Stretch goal: begin to help define a perspective on the general differences that would be expected from using aqueous, ethanolic or super critical extraction of plant materials.

We are looking for applicants who are working towards a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Medicinal Chemistry/Biochemistry or like degree.
